The more we gain in life, the more that is required of us. It’s amazing how so often we cry “more, more” without realizing what that more will require of us. For every gain there is a cost. To whom much is given, much is required. Sometimes we ask for more out of selfishness and immaturity without realizing everything what will come along with more. Life is all about balance, which requires wisdom. I’m not at all saying that more is bad, I’m simply saying that we must understand that with more comes more responsibility. We often expect to gain more but do less. More can make life…

Doing Well & Living Well
How do you define living well? Do you automatically think of what you have? Your money and your possessions? What’s most important to you? 2018 has been quite a year for me thus far, and I can honestly say that I’m on a journey to well living. We should all be able to define what living well looks like to us. What does living well look like to me? Being at peace on the inside. Being content with what I have. Being humble & loving. Being positive. Being fully present in each moment. Being free to live, enjoy, and express. Being excited about the future.I believe that doing well…

Are You Controlled by Christ?
What controls you? Are you controlled by Christ? There are a number of things that try to control us, but as Christians the only thing that should control us is the Spirit of God. “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” – Galatians 5:24-26 This tells us that though we are saved and in Christ, it is possible for us to walk in things other than Christ. It makes sense that the Bible tells us…

What Sin is in Your Heart?
Are you focused on conquering the sin in your life? What sin is in your heart? It’s so easy to focus on everything and everyone else, overlooking the fact that we have an issue with sin in our own hearts. Most of the problems that we have can be traced back to sin. The apostle Paul wrote the book of Philippians from prison, but he still wrote with joy and contentment: “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” – Philippians 4:11 This demonstrates that it’s not about our circumstances, but rather what’s in our heart. Circumstances…

A Time to Speak
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 All of my life I’ve been silent. Either not seeing, or seeing and lacking the strength to speak. Well, I’ve reached a turning point in my life where I have everything that I need to do both- see and speak. Now is a time to speak. Now is my season to speak. The traps have been set, the lies have been told, and the conspirers conspired- all in an attempt to hide the truth. Evil motives have been hidden for years, taking advantage of the hurt, the blind, the weak, and…

17 Lessons from 2017
We’ve entered a new year. Now what? Before we can move forward in the NEW, we have to deal with the OLD. What do you need to leave behind? Have you reflected on your past year? As I looked back over 2017, I noted my learnings. 17 Lessons from 2017: 1. There is always resistance in doing right. Just because God opens your eyes to something doesn’t mean that it will be easy to walk it out. 2. The Lord has to humble us to get the best out of us. 3. My feelings don’t control me; I have the power to control my feelings. We don’t have to just…

Start Where You Are & Stop Looking Back
It’s so easy to waste time thinking about what we should have done. We think: If I would have done that I would be in a different place right now. We get frustrated and discouraged, crying over what we can’t change. The key is that some things we can’t change but some things we can. Let’s focus on what we can change: Start where you are & stop looking back. When we start where we are it is important to acknowledge what we should have done differently. We need to make note of what to do going forward so that we don’t repeat mistakes. We must acknowledge what we did wrong,…

No Doubt. Only Faith.
Have you ever wanted something or even prayed for something, but then just as quickly doubted? Thoughts like: Well it may not happen or that’s probably too much creep into our heads and prevent us from fully believing. We must believe without a doubt. No Doubt. Only Faith. Doubt is a form of fear and we must put a stop to it. We must spot it first because it tries to be oh so sneaky. When I read of those that were healed by Jesus it was always about their faith. One thing that seemed to consistently irritate Jesus was a lack of faith- Doubt, unbelief, fear. They all prevent…

CHRISTIANS: The Fight Is On
Every day, the fight is on. As Christians, we are: blessed, forgiven & redeemed, yet we still have to fight. Every day. The sayings: Nobody’s life is perfect, everybody’s fighting some kind of battle, fight for what’s yours all imply that we’re fighting. As Christians, we must understand that daily we’re in a battle. We have 3 enemies: Our flesh, the world, and Satan. It seems that at all times, 1 of the 3 is throwing a punch. The fight is always on. The spiritual realm is always active, and the more we learn (help us, Lord) the more we have to fight. The more we learn, the more…

What are you willing to do for Christ?
What are you willing to do for Christ? What are you willing to go without for Christ? We know the scandalous things we’re willing to do for the the love of money: lie, steal, cheat, even kill. On the other hand: What are we willing to do for the love of Christ? I’m realizing that there are some things that we just cannot do without a sincere, devoted love for Christ. I believe that one of the reasons Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love Him and love others, is because if we love Him more than anything then our love for Him will keep us obeying Him and…
