The Importance of Family Structure

During these times of coronavirus and quarantine, we’re forced to be at home. Some dread their time at home, while others are enjoying the closeness of their family. Now, more than ever, we must see the importance of family structure.

Our typical way of life is constant, on the go, highly commercialized. We work, commute, eat, shop, and fill our schedules to the brim. Our current way of life is slow, we’re immobile, unable to purchase the things we once considered necessities.

We’re now forced to be at home with family. How is your family life? Do you see the importance of family structure?

As we’re in this stay at home season, we cannot view it as idle or down time. We must still be working. Moms, especially, must still be building. Actually, these times are perfect building times.

“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”

– Proverbs 14:1

Are you building? Preparing? Or, are you destroying?

This season is the perfect building season because distractions are limited. Even if finances are limited, much building can be done without money. When money is low, you’re in a position to learn what truly matters. As our Pastor says: Money can only solve money problems.

What are the problems within your family?

Take an honest look at your family to determine the root of the matter. Look within self first, because as moms we certainly play a role in the mood of the home. Once you look within, look at the relationships. How do the members of the family relate to one another?

Is there love, mutual respect, concern, and kindness? Or, is there indifference, rudeness, and constant bickering? A wise builder will take the time to assess the situation. Really see what’s going on. Once you’ve observed, go to the Lord.

Spend time with the Lord and allow Him to walk you through the process. Speak to Him. Listen to Him. Read His Word. Commit to His way. Once you do, you’ll be surprised at what God will do.

God is for family. God is for your family. We just have to take the time to go to Him. We have to trust Him with our families, realizing that we are incapable of doing it on our own. Most of us have more time on our hands now than ever before.

Now is the time to see the importance of family structure. It’s building time.

Much love,
