Deal With Your Fear

I’m finding that when I feel the most fearful is when I need to exercise my faith the most.  When fear tries to cripple us, stop us, and discourage us is when we must really rely on our faith.  What do you fear?  I encourage you to take some time today to deal with your fear.

Fear will prevent us from moving forward in God and receiving the blessings that are just around the corner.  Fear will prevent us from sowing, although we know that God’s Word has clearly told us that he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows generously will also reap generously (II Corinthians 9:6).

Why don’t we sow?  Because we are afraid that we will be left with nothing.  We are afraid.

I understand how the apostles felt in Luke 17:5 when they asked Jesus to increase their faith.  When we are faced with God’s Word and His way of doing things, sometimes all we can do is say increase our faith because His way seems impossible.  And without faith it surely is!

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

– Hebrews 11:6

When it gets hard and we feel we have nothing left we may just need to do like the apostles and ask the Lord to increase our faith.  God does not honor fear.  We know that God does not give us a spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7).

Satan knows that if he can cause us to doubt (because of fear) that God cannot and will not honor fear.  It is imperative to deal with your fear.  The only currency that God works with is faith.  Our blessings lie within our ability to give- in faith.

What is fear trying to prevent you from doing?

Take some time today to deal with your fear.

Where you are most fearful is where you need to exercise the most faith.  Faith will take us to the next step with God, and He has a next step for us all because we are still living.  Let’s believe that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).

Don’t fear failure, don’t fear lack, don’t even fear suffering.  Jesus himself told us:

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

– John 16:33

As Christians, we will never fail.  We may fall, but never fail.

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”

– Psalm 37:23-24

We have absolutely nothing to fear.
