If we are to live the lives that God has called us to live, we must stay mindful of 2 words: priorities & prayer. How we use our time should reflect our priorities, and in order to live according to our priorities, we must stay diligent in prayer.
Priorities & Prayer
This summer, God has really been dealing with me on priorities. My priorities are as follows:
- God
- Self-Care
- Marriage
- Daughters
- The Family Unit
- Work
- Serving
- Relationships
How we spend our time should reflect the ranking of our priorities. For instance, with God being my #1, I have to give Him the first of my time. When I start my day, I am intentional to spend time with Him first. He is my source and equips me with everything I need to excel at all of my obligations. He even leads me with taking care of myself. In order to love and serve others well, we must take care of ourselves first.
Prayer is essential because it is God who brings our attention to any adjustments that need to be made. None of us will always get it right, which is why priorities & prayer, must be essential. Priorities guide us in how we spend our time, and prayer allows us to hear from God so we can adjust as He leads us.
Priorities & prayer provide a level of protection in our lives.
Daily, we are faced with countless decisions to make. We are tested and tempted. We have various obligations and responsibilities. How are we to handle it all?
Priorities & Prayer.
Having our priorities defined will help us determine what needs to be done right now. Though we are fond of multi-tasking, truly we should only focus on one thing at a time. Priorities help us to make those decisions effectively. Prayer will allow us to see what’s essential, what’s urgent, what’s important, or what is merely a distraction.
