So much of our stress in life is a result of doing things out of order. Order is everything. We’re running around worried about everything, forgetting that He told us if we keep our mind stayed on Him, He will keep us in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). We rush trying to get things done, forgetting that we are not here to simply get things done- We are here for His pleasure.
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
– Revelation 4:11
We should be less concerned with pleasing others, and more concerned with pleasing God.
Stop worrying about other people’s business, while neglecting your own responsibilities. Constantly on social media, spending little to no time with our Master; yet wondering why you’re insecure, envious, and constantly comparing.
Order is everything.
How do you start your day? Do you wake up and call on Jesus or do you quickly start mentally running through the things you need to do for the day?
The things we have to do aren’t nearly as important as they may seem. I enjoy to-do lists, and I love getting things done, but I’m learning that’s not the primary reason for my being. My primary reason for being here is to praise the Lord:
“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
– Psalm 150:6
I’m reminded that as I walk, I’m walking with Jesus. As I talk, I’m talking with Jesus listening. As I work, I’m working with Jesus. We are to do all things as if we’re doing them for the Lord- not for people (Colossians 3:23).
We’re only able to do this if we get our mind in order.
We will pay for doing things out of order. It may cost us our peace, our joy, or our fulfillment for living. Living out of order will make us wonder: Why am I even living? What’s the point?
Living in order and keeping God first, will allow us to see the spiritual perspective in everything:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
– Psalm 23:4
Jesus Himself said:
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
– John 16:33
His Word also tells us:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
– Philippians 4:13
What are we so worried about?
Living a life of order makes so many things possible. We’ll find that we can even handle more and do more if we just live in order. Surprisingly, we are also able to enjoy it all when living in order!
