I’ve Never Failed So Victoriously

Yesterday I failed a test, and I have to say that I’ve never failed so victoriously. I’m primarily sharing this for myself as I’m continuing to progress through my own freedom/humility journey. Secondly, I want to document this for our girls. Lastly, I want to encourage others from the lessons I’m currently learning from my real life.

The test that I failed was the SIE exam, an introductory exam required for investment licensing. Though the test result displays fail, I know without a doubt that I spiritually won. The lessons for me were countless, and honestly the failure had nothing to do with the exam.

It. Was. All. Spiritual.

Do you realize that much of our progression in life has little to do with our performance? Now, don’t take it out of context. I’m not saying that laziness or indifference will lead to progression. I am saying, however, that performance is not everything.

Much of our progression in life is simply a result of our heart and our relationship with God. Consider these 3 scriptures:

1.

“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

– Psalm 37:4

2.

“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

– I Samuel 16:7

3.

“The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.”

– Proverbs 10:22

Each of these scriptures demonstrate to us that our blessing, progression, or advancement in life is not exclusively tied to our performance. God desires for us to delight ourselves in Him and keep our hearts pure. As we sincerely keep Him and His Word first in our lives, we position ourselves for His blessing- which will be an undeniable blessing.

Sometimes we labor unnecessarily (Psalm 127:1-2). We labor in vain with no fruit for our effort, instead of laboring led by the Spirit of God, positioning ourselves for His supernatural blessing.

We have to ask ourselves: Do I want it my way or His way?

The key is in realizing that there is no cookie-cutter formula. Each of us are unique individuals with unique purposes and unique gifts. This acknowledgment requires each of us to remain submitted to Him, allowing Him to lead us on the perfect path that He has for each of us.

I’ve Never Failed So Victoriously: What did I learn?

A few of the lessons were:

  • It’s all spiritual. We all have spiritual issues, at the root, that trip us up and hinder our progress. We have to humble ourselves and allow God to show us our inner, spiritual struggles.
  • It’s all in the strategy. We don’t succeed because of who we are. Though we tend to think of ourselves more highly than we ought, there is truly nothing special about us. We’re all wrapped in sinful flesh. The key is in the strategies that we employ.
  • Stress blocks comprehension. The more space we give to stress in our lives, the more that it will hinder us. There are unavoidable levels of stress that we all experience, but we must keep it in check and in it’s proper place- not giving it more space than it’s due.

I can honestly say that I’m thankful that I failed that test. The lessons that I learned will take me much farther than a pass result would have. Though I didn’t share them all here, I wrote 13 lessons I learned IMMEDIATELY after failing. As soon as I saw the test result, I immediately knew and stated:

“It’s all spiritual.”

The Holy Spirit then began to pour into me. I’m so grateful. We have to take some lessons in life, and really learn from them, in order to move forward in the fullness of blessings that God has for each of us. To God be the glory for the lessons.

I’ve never failed so victoriously: I’ll take spiritual victories over natural victories any day of the week.

Love you all. Stay encouraged.
