Sometimes we over-complicate praying. You don’t need a college degree to be able to pray to God! Sometimes we don’t feel qualified to pray, or even worthy of praying. Or, like I was before, maybe you simply don’t know how to pray or you don’t feel comfortable praying.

Jesus talked a lot about praying while he was on earth. Let me share this:
In Matthew 6:6-7 Jesus said: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.”
I love this! It’s telling us many things:
1- Pray in private. Don’t pray to show off or be seen.
2- The Lord sees us praying when others do not. The Lord is the only one who needs to hear our prayers- He’s the only one who will answer them!
3- You don’t have to pray for hours. A prayer does not have to be long in order to be effective. Clearly, the Lord is telling us that long prayers do not impress him.
Here a 10 simple, short prayers that you can pray throughout your day.
- Lord, have your way.
- Lord, you are in control.
- Help me God.
- Thank you for this day.
- Thank you for everything, Lord.
- I love you Lord.
- Help those in need, Lord.
- Thank you for a good day, Lord.
- Thank you for creating me, Lord.
- God you are good.
I really hope this helps you to feel more comfortable praying! Remember, the Lord is not impressed with fancy words, He is concerned with the heart.
“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart” (I Samuel 16:7).
