ATTITUDE PROBLEM? Get yourself together, girl.

Do you have an attitude problem? When we think of attitude, we tend to think of having a negative attitude, however, we always have an attitude. It’s just a matter of what type it is. How would you describe your attitude? Or, maybe a better assessment would be how others describe your attitude.

Another way of looking at your attitude would be to consider your energy. What type of energy exudes from you? This energy is stemming from your attitude. How do others feel in your presence? How do you impact those around you? Our attitude most certainly affects us, but it also significantly affects others.

Having an attitude problem is sure to affect every area of our lives.

We could consider our attitude as the filter through which we experience life. A positive attitude will lead to positive experiences, while a negative attitude will lead to negative experiences. Consider how two different people can respond completely different to the same situation. The only difference is attitude- how they see the situation. How they see it influences how they respond to it.

No area of our life is untouched by our attitude.

Not only does our attitude affect others, it starts with affecting us first. Our attitude is closely linked to our feelings, our thinking, our moods, and ultimately our behaviors and actions. Secondly, and most certainly intertwined, our attitude affects others. Depending on our position, we may significnatly play a role in shaping the attitudes of others.

Attitudes are contagious.

By maintaining a positive attitude, we influence others to have a positive attitude. By having a negative attitude, we influence others to have a negative attitude. Since we understand how influential attitude is, let’s prioritize our own health as well as the health of others by maintaining a positive attitude.

3 Ways to Fix Your Attitude Problem

1. Acknowledge it.

Before you can fix any problem, you must first acknowledge that there is a problem. Take the time to get quiet before the Lord. We must first seek humility which is a necessity to acknowledge any shortcoming or weakness.

Remember: No one is perfect.

Remember and recite this as you journey toward dealing with your attitude problem.

2. Assess it.

What causes you to have a negative attitude? Do certain situations trigger you? Or, has it simply become a part of your nature? Take the time to assess and determine the particulars that play a role into you having a negative attitude. It may hurt, but this is a necessity to overcome. Stick with the process. Be completely honest. Remember, you’re not broadcasting your problem to the world. You are simply being honest with yourself, as well as the Lord. The Lord longs to set you free from any problem hindering you in life.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

– John 8:32

3. Take action.

Once you acknowledge and assess, you must take action. You will have gained so much by the first 2 steps, that #3 is all about moving forward with your learnings. Journal. Write. Do whatever you need to do to gain & maintain clarity.

So much of our weaknesses are a result of unawareness. We’re unsure why we do what we do, we never take the time to figure out why, therefore, we keep on doing what is not good for us. A key to moving forward in good behaviors is to take the time to understand why we engage in our bad behaviors. Again, it takes humility and honesty to walk it out; but girl it is so worth it!

Don’t abort the process. Don’t revert back to what’s comfortable. Keep moving forward, attacking those bad attitudes. Through Christ, you can fix your attitude problem. It won’t happen instantly or automatically, but if you keep at it day by day, situation by situation, you will begin to notice a difference in yourself. Others will, too.

You actually make it appear so easy along with your presentation however I find this matter to be actually one thing that I believe I might by no means understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am taking a look ahead on your subsequent post, I will try to get the grasp of it!
