If I didn’t have faith, I wouldn’t have anything. As we celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday, I made up my mind to be THANKFUL FOR ALL THINGS and to ENJOY THE DAY. This meant that we moved at our own pace. We didn’t rush to do anything. Actually, we slept in! But guess what?
We enjoyed the day from beginning to end. I’m truly thankful for faith.
We started our morning by reading and praying as a family. We read Ephesians 5:15-20.
“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”
– Ephesians 5:20
We must give thanks always- for all things.
No one has a perfect life, and Thanksgiving doesn’t automatically change things. Honestly, what mostly happens is a whole lot of faking, pretending, and covering up. People act like everything is grand for their Facebook photos, but on the inside they’re broke and empty.
That’s one of the reasons why I’m thankful for faith. When we walk in faith we don’t have to fake. Walking in faith doesn’t mean we’re ignoring reality or denying life’s problems, it means that we know that everything is going to be ok. It means we are joyful despite our circumstances, it means we serve One who is greater than anything we could ever face- and we rest in that.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
– John 16:33
This is why I’m thankful for faith. I have placed my faith in the One who has overcome the world.
What more could I ask for?
