I cried today, but not from pain or even sadness. Just the opposite actually.
This evening I had to rehearse a speech at church for a children’s meeting that I’m speaking at. My daughter, Maraya, was also there and observed all of us practice.
Afterward, she whispered to me: “Can I go next?”
I asked our Pastor and she said yes so they introduced Maraya.
She walked up so confidently and sweetly and said her name. She actually nervously repeated it just like I did. 🙂
She then began to speak about Jesus. She spoke of how we have to be obedient so He can bless us. She was so eloquent, elegant, and confident that she brought me to tears.
I was moved in so many ways:
1. She could speak about Jesus at the drop of a hat. No preparation needed.
2. She was so confident to get up and speak in front of a room of adults, including the Children’s Ministry Pastors.
3. She resembled me so much. Down to the point of her repeating her name. Her delivery was so much like mine! She even said “The first point is” like I did.
I am so proud of her, and I’m so thankful that she can model me & it’s a good thing. Our kids are watching AND copying us. We must always be on guard to set a good example.
I cried today and it was a good thing.
