Embrace the Changes: Success = Change

It’s hard for so many people to live the life of their dreams because they can’t embrace the changes that come along with it.  Success = change.

We want that, but we don’t want to let go of this.  We need to do that, but we can’t stop doing this.  I need friends like that, but all I have are friends like this.  I want to move forward, but I keep looking back.

Sometimes we seem so far from where we want to be, but the one thing we must accept is that if we want to change our lives then we must be ready to embrace the changes that come along with it.

No doubt, change hurts.  Even good changes hurt.  Why?  Because it’s a change and it’s natural to initially feel a sense of loss.  We must understand that it’s only a part of the process.  We have to be willing to let go of what’s familiar in order to gain the best that God has for us.

If we’re honest with ourselves, we all need to change something.  To say we don’t need to change is to say that our life is perfect, and no one has a perfect life.  Every change on the outside begins with change on the inside.

In order to change our lives we must first change within.

This is a specialty of God.  If we simply walk around solely focused on the outside of ourselves and others, were missing it all:

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.  The Lord does not look at the things people look at.  People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

– I Samuel 16:7

As we live our lives, we must accept a few things:

1. If I want to change my life, I must change within.

2. If I am to change within, I must be honest with myself and with God.

The beautiful thing about walking with God is that He is always doing something.  There is nothing stagnant about God, therefore, the person who walks with God will be not be stagnant.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

– Philippians 1:6

Lastly, keep in mind that your life is your life.  Your walk with God is your walk with God.  His plan for you will likely differ from others so you can’t  compare or compete with anyone.  You must simply trust God and follow Him.  As you do this, you will see His mighty power unleashed in your life.

Why forfeit the blessings of God for the sake of staying the same?

It’s not worth it.  Walk with God and embrace the changes that come your way.  Remember:

If nothing changes, nothing changes.
