Design Your Days: 5 Tips

Due to the coronavirus, all of our lives changed in various ways. Our schedules and routines have definitely been interrupted. A blessing is that we are now in a position to really assess our schedule and design our days. What are your priorities in this season? How are you using your days? I encourage you to take some time today to really look at your life and intentionally design your days.

Design Your Days: 5 Tips

1. Look at your life.

Take some time to really look at your life. Observe your home, your space, your family. Take some time to look at your life to really understand the current state of things.

2. Start writing.

Journal and jot down what you observe. Make lists. Write down any concerns you see. Make note of areas that need some attention.

3. Start focusing.

As you become aware of areas in your life that need attention, start focusing your attention on them. When life was busier, we were pulled in so many directions that we didn’t really have the time to focus in on areas in our life that truly needed our attention. Now we do. Start focusing your attention on what truly matters.

4. Use your time wisely.

Though we’re at home more, we still have to manage our time wisely. It’s very easy to be at home doing nothing. This is what we must avoid. Even while at home, focus on your time and use it in ways that will bless your life.

5. Design your days.

Take a look at a calendar and look at the days, the weeks, the months. Begin to determine what you will do on certain days. Design each day based on what you feel you and your family needs. Everyone is different so our days may look different, but the key is to design your days in such a way that you are giving yourself what you need to be your best.

For instance, one thing that I benefit from is 1 slow day/week. It’s not that I do nothing, but I do focus more on my physical, spiritual and mental rest. I limit my to-do’s for the day, only doing what’s absolutely necessary, to give myself some rest.

As you begin to really look at your life, take some time to determine what you need. We tend to focus more on the external while neglecting the internal. You can only give what you have on the inside. Take some time to nurture your soul. Design your days in such a way that you are giving others the best you possible.
