Do you ask God for what you need? Do you believe that He cares about your every need?
Yesterday I was listening to a Joyce Meyer message and she discussed how she spoke with a lady who felt it was wrong to ask God for money. The lady was struggling to meet her quota at work and Joyce asked her if she had asked God for help. Joyce comforted the woman and let her know that it is absolutely okay to ask God to help her with her sales so that she could earn more money and ultimately keep her job.
We should depend on God for everything. He is our provider, our source of love, our source for peace. He wants us to pray and talk to Him about everything! God sincerely wants to be involved in every area of our lives.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he carter for you.” – I Peter 5:6-7
The scripture tells us to pray about everything:
“Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7
As we take all of our concerns to God in prayer, we feel better. As we trust Him with our cares, He provides us a peace that passes all understanding. We can swap out worry with peace.
It is perfectly okay to ask God for healing, for money, for love, for children, for peace, for strength. We should take all of our heart’s desires to God. Where else can we take them? God desires for us to depend on Him instead of attempting to meet our own needs.
The world teaches us to be independent, but God longs for us to be dependent on Him. God is a Father who longs to bless and provide for His children.
Keep in mind that just because we ask God for something doesn’t mean we will always get it. Maybe it will come later; maybe it won’t come at all. Maybe what we desire is not good for us, or maybe He has something even better in store. We have to trust Him.
We must trust Him to provide the very best for us at the right time.
We must trust God and then have peace while we’re waiting. We must demonstrate contentment and appreciation for all that He has already done.
No matter your concern, worry or desire, I encourage you to ask God for what you need. Know that He hears everything and will provide exactly what you need right when you need it.
With love,
