We Are Producers!

As humans, we are producers.  When God created us, He gave us the ability to produce.  He gave us the ability to work, so that we can increase what we have.

Matthew 25:14 begins the story of The Parable of the Talents, and in this parable the master left his servants with talents (a large amount of silver or gold) while he went away on a journey.

While he was away, the servant who had the least was afraid to do anything with the talent!  He hid the money.

The servant who was given the most actually doubled his talents.  He put his money to work!

Upon the master’s return he was very pleased with the servants who increased their talents; however, he was disappointed in the servant who did nothing with his.

To the servants who doubled their talents the master said: “Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share your master’s happiness!”  (Matthews 25:21)

To the servant who was afraid and did nothing with the talent, the master called him a “wicked, lazy servant” (Matthew 25:26).

For me, the moral of the story is that we should always return to God with more than we started with.  This may include: finances, resources, talents, gifts, etc.

We should properly manage what we have, produce, return it to God, and He will give us more.

We Are Producers!
