The Dangers of Being Project-Focused (Happy 35th Birthday to Me!)

Yesterday was my 35th birthday and I launched “How to Live FREE!” and was also able to seal the deal with my first client as a financial coach. The Lord truly blessed me in many ways, allowing me to celebrate the day of my birth, but you know what else He did? He disciplined and taught me. He chose to use my birthday to reveal ways within me that I need to change.

The Dangers of Being Project-Focused

We tend to think that money is more than it is. Money is just money. Though we need it for essentially every aspect of living, we must still keep it in it’s proper place. We wrongly give more credit to money than it rightly deserves.

If you have all the money in the bank and all that you touch propers, YET your relationships are strained, how happy will you really be? Really take the time to ponder that.

The true answer will not be related to money in anyway.

If you are blessed with a spouse, they need your adoration. Blessed to be a mommy? Your kids need your attention. If you are blessed with sincere friendships, they need your sincere friendship. This is where it’s at in life. Money and success matter less than we think.

A better way to live is to live people-focused.

People are the bread of life. They make it matter. Our most important relationship with God is made possible through the person of Jesus Christ. He desires a relationship with us, not strict adherence to a list of rules or completed projects.

Christ cares about the heart.

We must grow in our sensitivity to the heart. Our own heart and the hearts around us- the hearts that God has entrusted to us.

I thank God for allowing me to celebrate my 35th birthday in such a special way. I thank Him for blessing me with relationships with people who truly celebrated me. That is what matters. Not a completed project. I thank Him for opening my eyes to the dangers of being project-focused.

Continuing to learn and share with you as I do.

Much love,
