One of the biggest reasons we aren’t progressing in life is because we’re not taking action. We read, we consume, and even plan to do things; yet we never do them. We scroll, save, pin, and even commit; yet we don’t implement. If we are going to see our lives truly change, we must start taking action. Even more specific, we must start living with a take action now mindset.
This attitude will change our days, our decisions, our lives. It will help you to use your time more wisely and it will keep you moving forward. So often what gets us is a lack of action. We lose our motivation, which slows our action, causing us to lose momentum. The loss of momentum further discourages us and will often lead us to a complete stop. This is what we want to avoid.
We must stay active.
Satan, our enemy, works to get us baffled, confused, stressed, and uncertain. Did I mention overwhelm? These negative emotions cloud our judgment, confuse our mental space, and cause us to stop. This is the worst thing to do.
Don’t stop. Instead readjust.
For instance, there are times when I’m unable to write. When that happens, I read. If I feel myself getting frustrated, I step back or rest. When lacking clarity, I write, pray, or plan. See what I mean? Though we may not be able to do that ideal thing, we must do the next best thing. We must continue to take action. We must know that there is always something that we can do. Negative thought patterns cause you to think that if you can’t do this, you can’t do anything. That’s not true.
No matter what season of life you’re in, you can always do something.
As I continue to transition through various seasons in life, I’m able to look back and see the blessings in prior seasons. For instance, as a stay-at-home mom, you may not have the extra funds, but you do have extra time. The ebooks that I’ve written, I wrote during my stay-at-home mom season. Now, it is quite the challenge to write the 3rd ebook that is on my heart to write.
Progress in life can really be broken down into 2 steps:
1. Spend time with God to determine His plan for you in the current season of life.
2. Obey.
Repeat as necessary. The key lies in obeying immediately. The longer we delay, the longer we have to talk ourselves out it, be talked out of it, or be deterred from God’s will.
God has a plan for us, yet we can’t expect to walk it out without attack. The distractions will come. It’s inevitable. However, the more intentional we are to obey God’s will, the less effective the distractions will be. So, as you are focused on moving forward in life, begin implementing a take action now mindset.
