Stop Fighting Like That

Every battle is not yours to fight.  Often times, we’re stressed because we try to physically fight every battle that comes our way.  I’m here to encourage you today: Stop fighting like that.

Explanations and proclamations are not always best.  Some people will have an issue with you regardless of what you do.  Don’t succumb to the pressures of trying to get everyone to understand you.

People lying on you?  It’s not always meant for you to explain your side of the story.  This is a sure way of wasting all of your energy, instead of investing it on issues that truly matter.  Instead of fighting back, trust God.  Allow Him to vindicate you.  It’s surely not easy, but His way always works.  And it’s less stress. Trust me, I’ve tried it.

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

– Romans 12:19

I just read something today that said: The more time you spend trying to get even, the less time you have to move your life forward.

Stop fighting like that.

People trying to defame your character?  Key word: trying.  Don’t sweat it, the truth will always prevail.  Stop posting on Facebook trying to fight back.
Sometimes the best thing to do is to be still.  Fight in the spirit, through prayer, trusting the Lord to do what only He can do.  It may not seem like you’re fighting, but truly this is the most powerful way you can fight.

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

How do you fight your enemies?

The best way to fight is to first and foremost trust God.  Secondly, be still & allow Him to lead you.  As you take all of your concerns and feelings to Him, He’ll strategically walk you through your particular situation.

It is imperative to keep your heart pure, and don’t defame the character of others- no matter how easily it would be to do so.  Most people know the truth anyway, even if they don’t speak on it.  And if they don’t know the truth?  Pray that God will open their eyes.  Nonetheless, the key for you is to not allow the evil of others to make your heart bitter.  This is often the toughest fight.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but instead overcome evil with good.”

– Romans 12:21

Be still and allow God to fight for you.  Fight to keep a pure heart, for blessed are the pure at heart (Matthew 5:8).  Psalm 34:15-16 assures us that God will also deal with evildoers, so really you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
