In 24 days the highly anticipated BREAK FREE & LIVE! will be launching, and you know what I’m doing? Fighting for my freedom. No matter your stage in life, you must know that you will have to fight for your freedom.
Life is such a fight. No matter where we are in life as children of God, we must stay prepared to fight. If we are bound, we will fight for our freedom. If the Lord has set us free, we will fight to maintain our freedom.
Don’t let the enemy oppress you and weigh you down with negative thoughts. Don’t feel as if you’re the only one fighting. Though we may not always talk about it, we are all fighting something. The key is to keep fighting.
We lose when we quit. Fight for your freedom.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
– Isaiah 40:31
Here are 5 tips as you fight:
1. Think right. This morning the Holy Spirit brought me back to a scripture that was monumental in my freedom. II Corinthians 10:3-5. We must cast down anything that doesn’t line up with God’s Word. You must think right while you are fighting.
2. Speak right. Most of the time when we’re under pressure, all we want to do is complain, murmur, and speak negatively. This is not the way to fight. That is a trap; a major setup. No matter what’s going on around you: #1 think right and #2 speak right.
3. Slow down. If you know you’re fighting, maybe even being attacked spiritually, slow down. Don’t move too fast, don’t speak too quickly, really slow down and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you.
4. Take breaks. While you are fighting for your freedom, take breaks from your day. It doesn’t have to be long, but take regular breaks to allow you to rest from the fighting. Take in God’s Word, pray, and remind yourself that you are victorious through Christ.
5. Glorify God. This has been key for me lately, as the Lord has been opening my eyes to how irritable I am if things aren’t going my way. This is weak, and honestly this is Satan’s aim. We must stand strong in the Lord. Consider Job’s story. Satan’s whole aim was to get Job to curse God, so he attacked him.
No matter how you feel or how you’re being attacked, glorify God.
This can be as simple as even acknowledging: “Lord, I feel frustrated right now and I don’t understand what’s going on, but I do trust you. I choose to praise You anyway.”
This simple prayer acknowledges our faith in Romans 8:28. We must believe that God works all things for our good. Even when it doesn’t feel good and we don’t understand what’s going on, we have to take God at His Word. He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19). We must simply do our part and trust Him in the midst of our fighting.
No matter the fights that we face, we must know that we are victorious through Christ.
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). He will never put more on us than we can bear (I Corinthians 10:13), and though we face trials we shouldn’t be troubled because Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33).
Stay encouraged. Keep fighting for your freedom.
With love,
