Doing Well & Living Well

How do you define living well?  Do you automatically think of what you have?  Your money and your possessions?

What’s most important to you?

2018 has been quite a year for me thus far, and I can honestly say that I’m on a journey to well living.  We should all be able to define what living well looks like to us.

What does living well look like to me?

Being at peace on the inside.  Being content with what I have.  Being humble & loving.  Being positive.  Being fully present in each moment.  Being free to live, enjoy, and express.  Being excited about the future.
I believe that doing well & living well begins on the inside.  Many ‘appear’ to live well on the outside, but it’s not genuine.  Genuine well living only comes from a wholesome inside.

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

– Proverbs 4:23

A clean heart is the start to a well-lived life.

Our journey to a well-lived life starts with us looking inward.  Our culture is extremely focused on the exterior, our appearance, our look; but if we are to make any real progress in life we must take a good, deep look inward.  We have to be honest about the things in our heart, our struggles, our weaknesses, our issues.

Once we begin to deal with the issues of our own heart, we must then remain committed to living our best life, regardless of the friction that comes.  Trust me it will come.  I’ve learned that as we go after God’s best for our lives that opposition will come from every direction.

As they say: Anything worth having won’t come easy.

We must also understand that at the root of most issues are spiritual forces.  We can’t take it personal, we just have to keep journeying- trusting God and His plan for our lives.  I read this today and it really blessed me:

“For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:”

– I Peter 2:15

Just do well.

I’m not interested in people-pleasing, I’m no longer concerned about approval, but rather I’m focused on well doing.  Doing well in all that I do.  Doing well no matter what’s said about me.  Doing well, what’s best for me, regardless of how anyone may feel about it.  Doing well in love, so that all that I do will glorify my Heavenly Father who hath called me out of darkness into His marvelous light (I Peter 2:9).

You see, doing well no matter what comes your way is supernatural.  The only thing within us that would cause us to continue doing well in spite of adversity, is the Spirit of God.  Though most may not explicitly express it when they see it, this is evidence of God working in your life.  People throw arrows in an attempt to get a response.  When there is no response, but rather continued well doing, this, my friend, glorifies God.

How else can we walk through the fire and come out as gold?  Only by the power of God.

This is freedom.  This is living.  This is living well- for me.  Living well for each of us may look a little different.  We are all individuals with unique lives to live.  Whatever our case may be, we should all focus on doing well & living well.

Many of us aren’t able to live our best lives because we are too easily distracted.  We get entangled in things don’t matter, or they may matter but they don’t matter much.  We lose sight of where we’re going because we’re still caught up in where we’re from.  We can’t move forward because of all the forces pulling us back.

I encourage you to sit back and think about those things that prevent you from living your best life.

What’s stopping you from doing well & living well?

Take some time to figure it out and deal with it.  This is a new year.  2018 is your time to live.

Do well & live well.
