Too often we place too much value on beauty. We praise women for being beautiful, we constantly compliment their looks.
But, outer beauty tells us very little about a person. An attractive woman could be very selfish and arrogant; while a less attractive woman could have very beautiful inner traits.
I’m not at all saying that every attractive woman is selfish; I’m simply saying that we must learn to give less value to outer appearances.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” – Proverbs 31: 30
As women we should definitely cherish ourselves and tend to our appearance, BUT we must focus on our inner beauty much more. We shouldn’t reel men in with our curves, but attract him with our spirit.
One day our curves, defined legs, and flawless skin will vanish. Age happens to us all. When beauty flees, we want to have an unfailing love with our partner- A love that is based on our complete selves, not just how we look.
So, when getting ready in the morning we should certainly prep ourselves. Emphasize your beauty; don’t transform with tons of make-up. Spend quiet time praying, reading the Bible, or writing- Keep your spirit clean. Do what’s comfortable for you.
Let God cleanse you so that your clean, bright spirit attracts all the right things. A good spirit will automatically attract good things. Exterior beauty will attract almost anything. Think about it.
Focus more on your inner beauty- It will last forever.
