Thrift Shopping!

I went thrift shopping yesterday and look what I stumbled across!  Got all this for only $7.03, including taxes.  Hollister shirt- $1.50, Gap jeans- $3.50, Polo shirt- $1.50.

Who says you have to spend big to look good?  It’s what’s on the inside that makes you shine, anyway.  🙂

New Shoes!!

Grabbed these at DSW a few weeks ago and I’ve already worn them several times! I feel so good in them. They’re Nine West wedges and they actually look good with both skirts and pants.

And you know I got them on sale! They were already marked down to $69.94 but then they were an additional 50% off so I ended up getting them for $34.97! I’m winning! 🙂

Students get deal on iPads

Are you a student?  Need an iPad?  If so, you get a discount.  This shouldn’t be taken lightly because Apple is not known to have sales or discounted pricing.  Why would they?  People pay top dollar for their devices because they see the value.

The discounts are as follows: $20 off iPad mini and iPad 4, while the iPad air is $30 off.  With these discounts you can get an iPad for as low as $279.

I purchased my iPad mini with a wireless Logitech keyboard back in November and I’ve been extremely pleased.  The picture quality is amazing, it’s light and compact so it’s easy to tote, and I really enjoy the immediate turn on.  There is no delay like with a laptop.

The Apple website has a very handy comparison chart that really helped me.  It compares the different models so you can make an informed decision.  Check it out here.

If you’ve been considering buying an iPad, now may be your time.

Ahhhhhh! Look what I got!

I finally bought a tablet and I decided on the iPad mini.  I’ve debated and researched for a while and finally made a decision!  I talked to the Apple rep for over an hour before I finally purchased it!  I got it on Black Friday when they were having a sale and Apple doesn’t have sales so I was forced to buy it.  🙂

The two tablets that I was considering were the iPad and the Microsoft Surface.  The iPads are more popular, but they are more expensive and I just didn’t know if it was worth it.  I loved the Surface because it has Word and I am a Microsoft girl.  But hey I guess we all were at one time.  The only thing that prevented me from buying the Surface was the camera!  It is not very good at all.  That’s where the iPad got my attention- the camera.

Microsoft did an amazing job advertising their tablet with the snap in keyboard.  Who would’ve known that you can get keyboards for the iPads too?  I didn’t.  I had to have a keyboard because the only reason I wanted a tablet is because I’m a writer.  I want to be able to jot my thoughts down (and capture a great picture) no matter where I’m at.  I’ve learned that if you don’t pen some thoughts immediately they may never come back.

I’m just starting to play around with my new device and I love it already.  It’s so small, convenient, and accessible.  It also comes on immediately!  No wait time like a laptop.  The camera is amazing!  I was in bed last night and took a pic of myself with low lighting and it was still a great picture!  FaceTime is pretty cool too!

I’m anxious to be able to write and publish stories no matter where I’m at.  Exploring, being stimulated, taking pictures, and writing from anywhere.

All thanks to my iPad.  Team Apple!

My New Journal!

Check out my new journal!  I bought it at Wal-Mart a month or so ago for only $3!  I’m super excited about it because a new year is right around the corner and this is the journal I’ll be bringing the year in with!  Hmmmm, does this mean I will be ‘soaring’ in 2014??  Maybe so.  🙂

The first picture is the front cover of the journal and the second picture is of the actual writing sheet.  I’m thrilled that each piece of paper has a picture of an eagle on it.  Every day I write I will see a picture of an eagle.  I just love it!  A visual encourager!  It also has the elastic strap that keeps it closed.  This will be helpful for me because I tend to put notes/paper in my journals.

If you don’t know much about the eagle, you should check out my eagle post!  Click on the animals tab.  But, while you’re here let me share a few things about the eagle:

* The eagle is a symbol of power, courage, and majesty.

* The eagle is the national emblem of the United States.

* Female bald eagles are usually larger than males.

* Eagles have exceptionally keen eyesight.

Noowwww, do you understand why I’m so happy about my new journal?!   🙂

Kindle Fire HD tablet only $139!

Amazon is launching a new tablet, the kindle fire HDX, so they have significantly dropped the price on the previous model!  $139 for the kindle fire HD is a great deal, because I paid $199 for it last year!  With Christmas right around the corner, every kid on the block should have a tablet.

The kindle fire HD:

– has a 7″ HD display

– has built- in WI-FI

– has up to 10 hours of battery life

– only weighs 12.2 oz.

A major difference between this model and the newer ones is that this model does not have a camera.  Definitely something to consider, but I think it’s a great starter tablet at a great price.  My kiddo may find this under the Christmas tree this year! Shhhh!  🙂
