This Is The Time

Look around you: Whatever season you are currently in, this is the time for you.

Life is full of seasons, changes, and processes.  We must humble ourselves and walk closely with God so that we can learn to operate where we currently are in life.

If we’re not careful we won’t accept the time that we are currently in, feeling as if we’re missing out on something.  Wherever we are right now in life is for a particular reason.  It doesn’t matter how rough or easy it is for us, it serves a purpose.  Right now is not the end.  We all have pasts that led us to today and we all have futures that God has so beautifully designed for each of us, but right now we must deal with today.

What do you have right now?  What don’t you have?  How do you feel?  What do you have to say?  What do you need to do?

This is the time.

Stop longing for something you don’t have.  Stop desiring something that’s not yours.  Stop working so hard for something that will never bring you the inner fulfillment that you are lacking.  Be content right where you are.  Contentment doesn’t come with a circumstance.  It is something that we must learn.  We must learn to be content no matter what’s going on around us.

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”  – Philippians 4:11

God knows exactly where you are and there is a purpose for it.  Though we may not always understand why, we must always embrace our season, grow where we are, and we must learn to function right where we are.

This is the time.

I’m reading Ecclesiastes 3 this morning and it encouraged me:

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

Although not all seasons feel good, there is a season for us to go without, for us to hurt, for us to cry, for us to feel rejected, for us to be silent, for us to be loved and for us to feel unloved.  There is a purpose in all of these seasons.

The key is in accepting your season and going to God with all of your cares and concerns.  God wants us to go to Him when we feel unsure and lost.  It is then that He can guide us and strenghten us for the task at hand.

What time is it for you?

I’m reminded of Esther who understood that her becoming queen meant more than sitting pretty and indulging herself in all of the royalties that came along with being queen.  She knew that her position was about making a difference- serving others.  Mordecai, her relative, reminded her:

“…:and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”  – Esther 4:14

You are where you are for a reason.  Don’t miss the purpose that God has placed on your life, in this season.

This is the time.
