Stop Running

The very thing you are running from is the very thing that can bless you.

We love sunny days, we run from rainy days, but we need both to grow beautiful and strong.

We praise God for the good days, we cry “why?” on the bad days, but He made them both.

We point out everyone else’s faults and count their wrongs, but we never stop and consider our own.

We are happy when we get our way, terrors when we don’t, yet we don’t even see this as wrong.

We work hard to cover ourselves, hoping they don’t see our weakness, yet that’s the very thing they need.

You keeping going back, knowing it’s wrong, but you can’t stand to be alone.

What are you running from?

If we’re honest with ourselves, we’re all running from something.  I’m learning to face everything that comes my way.  The feelings, the bad days, the good days, the successes, the failures.  I’m facing it all because when we run from it we give it power.  Stop and look it in the face.  Deal with it.  If it hurts, let it hurt.  Absorb it all.  That’s how we learn.

To overcome the thing that once hurt us gives us the power.  It builds your muscle.  You’ll see what you are able to do.  We can do all things through Christ Jesus.  I know, without a doubt, that’s where my strength comes from.

So, I ask again.

What are you running from?

You don’t have to run.  Decide today that you’re facing it all.  You’re more than capable.

Stop running.

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
