Stop crying and accept His mercy. Stop crying thinking you’re a failure. Stop crying wallowing in yesterday’s mistakes. Today is a new day with new grace and new mercy.
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22-23
We can’t let pride prevent us from confessing our wrong- that will only hurt us. For we know that pride leads to destruction (Proverbs 16:18). Instead, we should pray:
“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” – Psalm 51:1-2
We have to read God’s Word in order to know Him and to understand what He requires from us. I John 1:9 says
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
We must confess!
We have to humble ourselves, accept that we aren’t perfect, and confess our wrong to God. As we confess, we are acknowledging that we have fallen short and that we need His help. God is so good that He will not leave us discouraged, but rather encouraged in Him because
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” – Philippians 1:9
God will never give up on us. He will never leave us, forsake us, deny us. Nothing can separate us from His love for us. As long as we are on this Earth, He will never stop working on us. We just have to work with Him. In order for us to work with Him, we must first humble ourselves.
What a blessing to know that He will forgive us once we confess. We must now ask ourselves:
What’s stopping me from confessing?
Acknowledge your wrong. Accept His love and mercy. Today is a new day.
