Every battle is not yours to fight. Explanations and proclamations are not always best. Some people will have an issue with you regardless of what you do. Don’t succumb to the pressure to try to get others to understand you.
People lying on you? You don’t have to explain your side of the story. People trying to defame your character? Key word trying. Don’t sweat it, the truth will always prevail. Stop posting on Facebook trying to fight back.
Sometimes the best thing to do is to be still. Fight in the spirit, through prayer, trusting the Lord to do what only He can do. It may not seem like you’re fighting, but truly this is the most powerful thing you can do.
Keep your heart pure, and don’t defame the character of others, no matter how easily it would be to do. Remember that most people know the truth anyway, even if they don’t speak on it. And if they don’t know the truth? Pray that God will open their eyes.
“Do not be overcome by evil, but instead overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21
Be still and allow God to fight for you. Fight to keep a pure heart because God promises to save the pure at heart. He will also deal with evildoers.
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry; the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth.” – Psalm 34:15-16
