I believe that no matter who we are or what we have that we are always fighting something. The fight may change, but the matter remains that the fight is still there. If we’re honest we could say that as long as we’re living we’ll be fighting. Kind of sounds depressing. What’s the point?
As I’ve grown in life and my circumstances have changed, I’m learning that there will always be a new fight. Have you ever faced something that you never would’ve thought you’d be fighting? Or are you now fighting a weakness that has always been a strength? What’s up with that?
I’m learning to never get too confident, complacent, or comfortable. I’m learning that I may fight to get things but then I have to fight to maintain them. I’m learning that one day a strength could turn into a weakness. I’m learning that there will always be something in life to keep us humble.
This makes me think of Paul when he pleaded with The Lord to take his thorn away from him. But The Lord replied to him “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Wow. We must remember that we’re not perfect, life is not perfect, and in order to cope with all the imperfections we must trust in the Lord’s power.
We mustn’t brag about our own strengths, instead we must accept that we can only do so much.
We have to get to a point of recognizing that there will always be a fight in life, and we need God to make it through- if we plan to make it out on top.
