Sometimes we take life too seriously! Today I sat and read some of Ecclesiastes and wow is it humbling. It is a great reminder that we are all human and the same destiny awaits us all- death.
We all live and we all die. We all laugh and we all cry. We all win and we all lose. On a certain level, life is the same for all of us although more often than not we emphasize our differences placing too much value on status.
I love this: “Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningful life that God has given you under the sun- all your meaningless days.” (Ecclesiastes 9:9)
How humbling is that! It definitely relaxes me and reminds me to simply relax and enjoy life. This is extremely beneficial to me because I am one that will work too hard, laugh too little, and plan too much! This scripture calms me down!
I also love this: “The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
IS THAT NOT AMAZING!? A definite perspective shifter. I love it. Nothing is guaranteed and there is no sure, absolute pathway to get what we want out of life. So, be easy and prepare for your chance.
I told you I’m a planner. Don’t take it TOO easy, just a little easy and pray that your chance will soon come. 🙂
