Life can be so demanding and overwhelming at times. There are times that our responsibilities and obligations take everything from us, leaving nothing for ourselves. Time, money, and resources always seem to be stretched so thin.
We have to be intentional to take time for ourselves! We have to demand it, even if it’s only 5 minutes. The only way that we can live our best life is if we are at our best self. There is no way around it.
Our relationships and priorities will soon suffer (if they aren’t already) if we are not taking the necessary time for ourselves. We’ve all heard the saying that we can’t give what we don’t have. We must always stop and replenish ourselves to ensure that we’re giving away good things.
Without taking time for yourself you may be giving away anger, harshness, and impatience. This is not good fruit. We must take time for ourselves so that we’re able to display patience, kindness, and goodness.
The only way to display good fruit is for us to be restored, replenished, and at peace. Taking time for ourselves allows us to tap into the inner peace and get balanced. 5 minutes of quiet time in the beginning of the day can allow us to start the day at ease, not rushed.
If you’re not up for quiet time, maybe listen to your favorite song- a song that gives you peace and good vibes. Or, call someone that you know will encourage you. Go to your favorite park, read a few pages of a good book, drop by your favorite store.
You get the point. Do something for yourself. Take 5 minutes to do something that will leave you better off than before. Your life depends on it. Go on, take your 5 minutes now. Thank me later. 🙂
