We all have those times when we feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or depressed. Those times when it’s hard to focus or even think straight.
When we feel overwhelmed we feel as if we have too many things to deal with, and this can be a very strong feeling. Think about all the crazy things that people have done due to feeling overwhelmed. It’s super important to tend to these feelings and not ignore them.
So, what do we do when we’re feeling overwhelmed? How do we ease the pressure?
Here are 3 suggestions:
1. Just stop. Stop going, stop thinking, and stop adding more items to the list. Take some time to just stop. Clear your schedule if you have to and just focus on yourself. We must learn to listen to our bodies and stop when we need to.
2. Write. Take some quiet time to clear out your mind and write your thoughts. Break everything down into a list. Seeing a visual list makes it easier to tackle. Writing makes me feel lighter because the things that were weighing my mind down are no longer in there. Writing helps me get ‘junk’ out of me.
3. Talk. Talk to someone you trust- express yourself. Talking allows you to get the emotions out so you’re able to just clearly see what needs to be done. Have you ever talked to someone about something that was stressing you and in the midst of talking you realized it wasn’t really all that bad? Talking does wonders.
Hopefully, this will get you started in the right direction. Listen to your body and take time to clear your mind so that you can be the best, most productive you possible! 🙂
