Who enjoys discipline? NO ONE! Who looks forward to it? NO ONE! We all know discipline builds character; or at least we should know this. This is why as children we were disciplined. Our caregivers told us that discipline was for our own good. Oh, or remember this “It’s hurting me more than it hurts you.”
Discipline is a necessary part of life even though we don’t enjoy it. Life is all about learning, growth, and development. Think about it, without discipline would we ever mature? I know I wouldn’t have. Discipline truly helped shape and mold me into a much better Margo. I’m much more polished and refined due to accepting and facing discipline.
Discipline helps us to see things differently. It should help us to look within and see our faults. Discipline should not make us feel inferior- it should make us feel enlightened so we can change our ways. Everyone faces some sort of discipline. Discipline should adjust our values and priorities. It should help us to honor and respect rules. Discipline simply makes us better!
This is what The Bible says about discipline:
Hebrews 12:11 “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
The Bible even tells us that discipline may hurt but it’s hurting for our own good!
Now, go on and take your discipline like a champ!
