Every year it seems like Christmas comes sooner and sooner! We all like to avoid the holiday hassle so here are a few things to consider:
-GIFTS! Plan for shopping. Review your budget. Make lists. Give creative gifts. Write letters. Mail cards. Review your budget before shopping, and don’t rack up a lot of debt trying to please others. Remember, you will be the one making the credit card payments next year.
-PICTURES! Family pictures- Yeah! (Can you tell I love pictures?) 🙂 Plan colors, outfits, check scheduling, and make the appointment!
-VOLUNTEER! Look into local agencies and volunteer with your family! Remember not everyone is shopping for iPads, some are just thankful for a meal. Give your time, money, and resources to someone who is less fortunate than you are. Look around. You may not even have to go to a local agency to help someone.
-JESUS! Christmas is Jesus’s birthday! Don’t get over consumed with Santa Claus and gifts, and forget what the holiday is all about. Jesus is the reason we are celebrating to begin with, and over time we have begun to acknowledge him less and less. Let’s refocus! Give Jesus some recognition this holiday season. Read a book with your family, say a special prayer, or anything else you can think of!
-TRIPS! Traveling this holiday season? Start planning so everything will run smoothly for the vacation. Consider taking a trip before the year is out. A weekend getaway would be nice and refreshing before the holidays arrive.
These are just a few ideas to get us all thinking! Hope it helped! Please share any other tips that you may have!
