“Excuse Me, I’m Evolving”

I heard an encouraging message this morning from my pastor so I just have to share it! The title of his sermon was “Excuse Me, I’m Evolving.”

He spoke of life and the process of ‘refining’ that we all must go through at times. It was an encouraging message for me, because right now life is not particularly easy.

He referenced Isaiah 48:10 “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”

He discussed how we may go through difficult times in life, but that does not mean that God is mad at us or not for us. God is always for us and will use those things that we feel are destroying us to develop and prepare us.

He used a 3 step process to explain life:

1- We all have a PURPOSE. We were created for a particular reason.
2. We must go through the PROCESS. The process is where we are tested, corrected, refined. Failures also exist in the process.
3. The finished PRODUCT. This is when God can greatly use us. Our character flaws are few.

He stated, “God is looking for people willing to go through the process to get to the calling.” He added that not everyone will go through the process. Some will turn away, or shortcut the process.

In order to go through the process, you must understand the purpose of your being. If you don’t understand your life’s purpose you will be discouraged by the process and won’t continue on.

He concluded, “We are evolving. We are becoming.” – Bishop Gary McIntosh, Senior Pastor of Transformation Church in Tulsa, OK.
